Job Description and Responsibilities
The purpose of the “CiRA Project for Discovering and Developing Future Independent Researchers” is to develop young researchers with the potential to play a pioneering role in the field of life sciences of the next generation and conduct world-class research. Under this project, CiRA is seeking a Junior Associate Professor or Assistant Professor (PI).
Targeted fields
We welcome applications from researchers conducting research that challenges conventional thinking across a wide range of fields in the natural sciences, particularly research that utilizes iPS cells, reprogramming technologies, informatics, AI, mathematics, biophysics, structural biology, and related approaches to pioneer new frontiers in the life sciences, medicine, and healthcare at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organismal levels.

Measures for preventing passive smoking at the workplace
Kyoto University is working to prevent passive smoking, by prohibiting indoor smoking on all campuses and also outside smoking except in designated areas.
Supplementary explanation of compensation
Regular faculty staff of Kyoto University (Junior Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, full-time, fixed-term)
・ Salaries, etc. are determined based on the Kyoto University standards in accordance with capabilities and backgrounds.
・ Discretionary work system for specialist staff (38 hours and 45 minutes/week, 7 hours and 45 minutes/day)
・ 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (break 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)/ 5 days a week, when Discretionary work system for specialist staff is not applied.
・ You may be ordered to work overtime as needed.
・ Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and new-year break, and the anniversary of foundation holiday.
・ Social insurance: Health Insurance of MEXT Mutual Aid Association, employee pension insurance, industrial accident compensation insurance, and employment insurance.
