Lab Manager/Clinical Simulation Director

Primary Purpose of the Position
The Lab Manager / Clinical Simulation Director is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of clinical simulation operations, laboratory services, and experiential learning environments supporting nursing and allied health academic programs.
This position provides leadership for simulation-based education, laboratory compliance, instructional technology integration, equipment management, accreditation readiness, and operational support for faculty and students. The role ensures simulation and laboratory activities align with institutional objectives, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evolving healthcare workforce practices.
The position exercises independent judgment in managing simulation operations, coordinating complex instructional activities, administering simulation technologies, supervising staff and student workers, and developing operational procedures that directly impact instructional quality, student success, clinical preparedness, and accreditation outcomes.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Progressive experience in clinical simulation, healthcare education, laboratory operations, or academic program support.
- Experience with simulation technology platforms, computerized patient simulators, and instructional technologies.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of clinical simulation operations, healthcare instructional practices, and laboratory management principles.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards, infection control practices, and laboratory safety regulations.
- Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain simulation technologies and instructional equipment.
- Ability to coordinate multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced academic healthcare environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop operational procedures and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty, students, staff, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure or clinical healthcare credential preferred.
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience supporting nursing or allied health accreditation processes.
- Supervisory or operational management experience in a healthcare or higher education environment.
- Experience with budget management, inventory systems, and simulation program assessment.
