Job Description
At NextGen Precision Health, University of Missouri, the Dr. Brodeur Laboratory is currently looking for a Lab Technician II. The Brodeur Lab in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health studies the intersection of the reproductive system and the immune system with the goal of creating disease-modifying therapies for primary ovarian insufficiency and autoimmune conditions that impact reproductive function.

The lab is located in NextGen, a new multi-million-dollar facility with high-tech instrumentation. Candidates will perform bench research using a variety of cellular immunology techniques as well as designing experiments. The ideal candidate would be detail-oriented, creative, and demonstrate consistent initiative and drive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing laboratory experiments using animal and human models: Genotyping, maintaining animal colony, running in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experiments in mouse and human models.
  • Performing molecular biology techniques such as cell culture experiments, western blotting, PCR, isolation of cells for single cell (Sc), isolation of RNA and analysis. Evaluating the impact of drugs on protein action and function. Perform sequencing data analysis such as bulk RNA-seq, snRNA-seq, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq. Immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent analyses.
  • Placing orders and maintaining records of orders, maintaining lab inventory
  • Troubleshooting experiments for optimal and reproducible results and data reporting

Shift
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years of biomedical science experience with exposure to immunology

Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $13.75 - $20.00 per hour

Grade: GGS 005
