Landscape Technician

Rocky Vista University in Ivins, UT has an immediate opening for a Facilities & Landscape Technician (Year-round Part-Time Position - 18 Hours Per Week).

SALARY: This part-time position will pay $18.50 - $20.00 per hour.

Primary Purpose: The Facilities & Landscape Technician is responsible for maintaining the outside appearance of the grounds for the main campus and the Medical Office Building, including lawns, trees, hedges, plants, and keeping sidewalks and other areas neat and clear of debris.

Essential Job Functions:

• Mowing, edging and fertilizing lawns.
• Weeding and mulching landscape beds.
• Trimming small trees, hedges, and shrubs.
• Removing unwanted, dead, or damaged trees and plants.
• Planting shrubs, flowers, and trees.
• Watering lawns and landscapes.
• Monitoring and maintaining plant health.
• Report safety issues and property damage to supervisor.
• Report and return lost property.
• Maintain a positive relationship with employees, students, tenants, and guests.
• Assist Facilities Technicians with set-ups and take-downs when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good organizational skills, excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and problem solve, work effectively in a team-based diverse environment, effective time management, lift up to 70 lbs, operate power machinery, work in extreme weather conditions, read, write and speak English.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) to three (3) years of experience in landscaping.
