The Highlights:
Reporting to the Director, this position assists with on- and off-campus events and small-group information sessions. The Admission Counselor will counsel students regarding admission to DePaul Law, participate in on-campus recruitment events and manage a population of prospective students, including all associated internal and external university stakeholder relationships. policies and priorities. This position also assists with processing communications plans and supporting overall office operations.
What You'll Do:
- Represents College of Law and counsels prospective students at off-campus programs and information sessions. Counsels and advises prospective and admitted law students about the application process and education opportunities through small-group information sessions, open houses and off-campus recruitment events, including travel off-campus and in the evenings and on weekends.
- Manages the prospective-student recruitment pipeline and develops relationships with prospective students and families to support application generation and enrollment yield. Oversees recruitment communications, including website content, recruitment materials, and targeted email campaigns. Responds to application and admissions-related inquiries and coordinates communications throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Assists with the coordination and execution of on-campus programs and events. Represents the College of Law at on-campus programs and counsels prospective and admitted students regarding admissions and educational opportunities.
- Reviews prospective student applications and credentials holistically and exercises independent judgment in making admissions decisions consistent with university policies, admissions standards, and institutional priorities.
- Supports Office Operations. Provides operational support to the office, including staffing the front desk, monitoring and responding to shared inboxes, and assisting with other administrative activities as needed.
What You'll Need:
A bachelor's degree required.
Two to three years of combined experience in recruiting, project management, or event planning preferred.
Experience in college admission or in a university setting preferred.
JD preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Proficient user of MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience providing high quality service in a professional environment.
Experience working effectively with students and diverse constituencies.
Knowledge of admissions and DePaul University helpful.
Physical requirements include arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and to answer and transfer calls; occasional lifting, pushing up to 25 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, reaching, balancing, bending, handling, climbing, vision, speech and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks.
Employee must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Weekend and evening hours may be required. Must be comfortable with all modes of transportation.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $42,679 to $56,630.50.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
