Position Description

Assigns and supervises the work of custodians and performs custodial duties involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Supervises a small group of custodians.

Major/Essential Functions

1) Floor & Carpet Care (30%)

• Spot-clean spills promptly; sweep/dust mop, wet mop, and vacuum assigned zones.
• Operate floor-care equipment (vacuums, autoscrubbers, extractors, burnishers) safely and per operating procedures.
• Report floor damage or safety hazards (wet floors, trip risks) and post signage as required.

2) Restroom Sanitation & Replenishment (25%)

• Clean/disinfect sinks, toilets/urinals, partitions, mirrors, and floors to departmental standards.
• Restock paper goods, soap, and supplies; empty trash/liners and maintain restroom logs.
• Address high-traffic restrooms throughout the day to maintain readiness.

3) Glass, Surfaces & Fixtures (15%)

• Clean interior/exterior glass (doors, windows) and tabletops; wipe/disinfect high-touch points.
• Clean and sanitize water fountains/refill stations and surrounding surfaces.
• Maintain a tidy, welcoming appearance in public spaces and entries.

4) Waste, Recycling & Outdoor Areas (15%)

• Empty, clean, and reline trash cans; transport waste to designated collection points.
• Support recycling routes and separation per building standards.

Required Qualifications

Requires three years experience in building custodial and maintenance work.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment.

Pay Range

$14.04 - $18.27 - $22.45
