Lead IVF Coordinator

Position Summary

The Lead IVF Coordinator provides ongoing clinical and operational support to the nursing team while working under the direct supervision of the Senior Nurse Manager. This role supports daily nursing operations through direct supervision of nursing staff, promotes high-quality patient care by providing primary nursing care to patients when required, and serves as a key clinical resource for nursing staff. The Lead IVF Coordinator plays a vital role in staff coordination, communication, and workflow efficiency, while maintaining alignment with organizational policies and leadership direction. At this senior level, the Lead IVF Coordinator may be asked to travel to site locations to train staff or review processes with staff, providers, and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing staff, including RN, LPN, and any temporary RN staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for staff questions and concerns, providing guidance and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Communicate updates, protocols, and directives from the Senior Nurse Manager and leadership team to nursing staff.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and coverage plans for nursing and evaluate for optimal patient flow and patient access.
  • Provide direct patient care coverage as needed, including holidays or weekends when required.
  • Manage customer service issues that occur at the time of visit.
  • Escalate patient safety, quality, or operational concerns to the Senior Nurse Manager in a timely manner.
  • Promote adherence to clinical standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Develop and supervise staff, coordinate new staff orientation, ongoing staff training and assist with evaluating performance of direct reports.
  • Actively participate in continuous quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with physician team to provide effective, efficient, high quality medical care.
  • Assist with developing, updating and editing operational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and develop policies and procedures for maintenance of AAAHC accreditation.
  • Identify education needs of staff; Plan, coordinate and implement ongoing education.
  • Ensure staff have been trained and maintain competencies for PACU care.
  • Assist with tracking and analyzing important departmental metrics.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent in education and experience, plus 4 years or more of related experience.
  • Current New York State RN License.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Travel between clinical sites may be required depending on need.
  • Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, bodily fluid, and tissue. Incumbent in expected to perform and/or/assist in emergency care and/or first aid as needed.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent triage and clinical skills.
  • EHR/computer skills.
