Job Summary/Basic FunctionProvide experienced leadership and administrative support to the Bay College Supplemental Instruction (SI) program. This position is designed for an experienced and dependable SI leader who can facilitate at least one section of SI while also supporting fellow SI leaders across both campuses through mentorship, training, coordination, and communication. The Lead SI Leader supports ongoing program development by assisting with data collection and recruitment efforts. This position requires a diligent, dependable, detail-oriented person who is knowledgeable of academic support programming and college success strategies
Minimum Qualifications - Experience with Supplemental Instruction (SI) or classroom facilitation.
- Experience with tutoring or other academic support roles.
- Demonstrated appropriate and professional behavior.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
Demonstrated level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.Demonstrated proficiency working in an online learning environment.Basic computer literacy with the ability to use video conferencing software like ZOOM.Demonstrated leadership qualities and/or experience in a tutoring program.Knowledge of academic and academic support needs of community college studentsAbility to demonstrate courtesy, tact and discretion in dealing with students, faculty, staff, and the local community.Strong organizational skillsAbility to respond with judgment and discretion to common inquiries or problems. Preferred Qualifications - Prior SI Leader experience at Bay College

Job Duty
- Lead SI for at least one course section on either campus.
- Serve as an experienced leader, mentor, and source of information among SI staff on both Bay College campuses.
- When feasible, serve as a substitute SI leader when a staff members needs to be absent.
- Coordinate SI leader office hours.
- Coordinate peer observations among SI leaders.
- Assist in preparing and sending SI surveys to students.
- Assist in coordinating SI session schedules.
- Assist with recordkeeping of SI leaders attendance forms and time/effort sheets.
- Assist in providing training and professional development experiences for new and returning SI Leaders.
- Provide observations and feedback to SI leaders.
- Assist in recruitment efforts to fill vacancies in SI staff
- Other duties as assigned.
