Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Job Summary
The Lead Teacher will be responsible for demonstrating proficiency in the knowledge and skills needed to individually evaluate young children and make appropriate recommendations; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with children, parents, colleagues and supervisors. The Lead Teacher must be able to understand State Standards, Licensing and National Accreditation planning and classroom implementation. The Lead Teacher plans and delivers instruction according to Early Learning Center accreditation standards and serves as a guide to the Assistant Teacher. This position is funded through Title III sponsored funds. Continuation of employment is based upon the availability of funds.

Responsibilities
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the following:
- Identify and work with the cognitive, social, emotional and physical development patterns of young children.
- Responsible for the overall curriculum planning and delivery, room arrangement, curriculum and lesson planning for classroom.
- Exercise maturity and good judgement needed in emergency situations.
- Maintain children's records (privacy of those records).
- Observe and evaluate the planning of individualized developmentally appropriate practices and plan daily activities for each child on an ongoing basis.
- Oversee the maintenance of classroom and playground equipment to ensure proper operation and safety for children.
- Supervise all children in their care, by sight and by sound.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned and/or required.
Required Qualifications
Education
Associate's in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field is required.
Experience
Minimum of four years of experience in direct care of young children ages 2-5 required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's or higher degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
Other Preferences
PSC certification preferred but not required.
