Learning Design Manager
LSE’s Extended Education division is a highly successful and commercially focused unit that comprises of the LSE Summer School, which enjoys a truly global reputation, as the largest in the world in terms of global intake and the LSE-designed University of London Programmes, with over 10,000 students worldwide currently study with us online or at one of 30 recognised teaching centres. The courses, degrees and diplomas we offer across this diverse and dynamic portfolio provide a significant revenue source for the school, generating critical funds to invest in LSE’s world-leading teaching and research. We operate in increasingly competitive markets and have ambitious targets for growth.
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Learning Design Manager to oversee the design and delivery of high-quality online content via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This role involves close collaboration with LSE academics, the University of London, 2U, and a global network of Teaching Centres.
In particular, the post holder will focus on:
- Managing and maintaining the VLEs for Locally and Online Taught courses (Moodle and Canvas).
- Liaising with UoL, 2U, and LSE academics to ensure high quality resources
- Advising academics on VLE functionality and course content development.
- Drive continuous improvement of course resources for the suite of EMFSS Degrees.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in the field of learning technology or learning design, including the development of online learning resources.
- Experience working in higher education or similar academic environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Experience of technical administration on Moodle and Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs).

Please note this role is office-based three days a week with two days a week from home, except during peak periods (e.g. exam sessions) when it is office-based four days a week, with one day a week working from home (approx. 13 weeks in the year)
