Lecturer 10 Months - Accounting and Law - University at Albany
Job Description
The lecturer will teach 3 courses per semester at the discretion of the department chair and perform services as necessary including: Organizing the Junior Accounting Orientation, Directing the EY Leads program, Attending department meetings and serving on selected School committees.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Instruction and preparation. Will teach a 3-3 teaching load.
- Other services and duties such as JAO and EY Leads.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to: Chair, Dept of Accounting and Law.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of different subjects of Accounting in order to teach them, including intermediate and advanced financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, government and not-for-profit accounting, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree or doctorate degree (e.g. DBA) in Accounting or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- In their application materials, candidates must address their plan and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in varying modalities (in-person, online, and/or hybrid).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching different courses in Accounting.
- Potential to teach in the three graduate programs.
- A PhD in Accounting or a related field (e.g. Analytics, MIS, Informatics or Economics) from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- CPA - Current NYS CPA or equivalent.
- Evidence of institutional service.

Professional Rank and Salary Range: Lecturer (10 Months), A0, Salary commensurate with experience.
