Job Details
The Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) Lecturer position in the following areas: early childhood/elementary education & literacy education. This position is responsible for preparing preservice teachers through high-quality instruction grounded in the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in literacy education and teacher education and will play an integral role in supporting preservice teachers’ development through coursework and supervised field experiences.

- Teaches courses, both in person and on-line, within the teacher education program. Four courses per semester (two semesters total).
- Develops course content, student assignments, syllabi, instructional materials, and delivery components.
- Delivers instruction and/or supervision of students.
- Incorporates effective instructional technology into course delivery both for in person and on-line classes.
- Grades papers and exams.
- Utilizes features of OSU's learning management system to share course material and enhance the course experience.
- Uses online Faculty Center to download class rosters and submit grades.
- Supervises field experience or student teaching.
- Holds regular student office hours and student review sessions.
- Works with Departmental Chair and Associate Chair to support core teaching and learning practices.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in the appropriate education field.
- 2-4 years of experience and expertise in school settings, including 2-3 years of teaching at higher education settings.
- The candidate is expected to align their pedagogies and philosophies of teaching incorporated within the vision of the Department of Teaching and Learning.
This is a 9/12-month position.
