UCC wishes to appoint an academic to the role of Lecturer in Law and French (Above the Bar) to contribute to the development of the School’s research, programmes and engagement ambitions. The School is currently ranked 94th in the world (QS 2025 Subject Rankings). The post holder will be expected to be research active, building on existing areas of research strength in the School. Furthermore, they would be expected to act as Programme Director for the BCL (Law and French) degree as well as making a full contribution to the School’s programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as appropriate. An ability to teach through the medium of French and knowledge of the French legal system are essential, while an ability to teach in other areas of law is desirable. The postholder will report to the Dean of the School of Law.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Above the Bar) Salary Scale: €79,185 - €102,549 (Scale B) / €75,338 - €97,420 (Scale A).

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
