Department Information
Within this setting, the mission of the School of Accountancy, which is fully accredited by AACSB International, is to provide excellence in accounting education through teaching, research, and service. We recognize our responsibility to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate accounting education, to conduct applied and instructional research benefiting accounting and business, and to render service to each of our constituencies. The School offers the BBA in Accounting and the Master of Accounting degrees—the latter of which is offered in two formats: traditional and online. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the School through academic research, professional outreach and achieving the School's mission. Faculty should also be willing to interact with students through activities outside the classroom. The School enrolls more than 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate degree programs and employs 18 full-time accounting and legal studies faculty members.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of the School of Accountancy, the Accounting Lecturer requires teaching undergraduate accounting courses and service responsibilities. The position is a full time 10-month appointment beginning August 1, 2026, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
Earned master's degree in accounting, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in accounting.
Evidence of the potential for above average teaching ability.
Evidence of effective communication skills.
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
Related professional experience.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFE, CIA, and CISA).
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
