Lecturer, Accounting (Term)

Teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, and business applications of Microsoft Excel, in both face-to-face and web-based modalities. Engages with the business community and profession; engages in ongoing development of teaching; and contributes to the department, college and university in ways that support strategic priorities.

The WCBA at Youngstown State University is an AACSB-accredited institution preparing over 2,000 students for careers with impact through our 7 undergraduate majors and fully online Master of Science in Business Analytics and Master of Business Administration programs. With a strong focus on career readiness, WCBA offers hands-on learning with industry-standard technologies in workplace collaboration and business analytics, professionally recognized certifications, and client consulting projects. Beyond the classroom, we provide our students opportunities to make a real-world impact through programs like the Student Investment Fund, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), and philanthropic initiatives that make a difference in our communities. WCBA's dedicated career services equip our students with essential capabilities to proactively manage and succeed in their career path, facilitate internships, and build valuable networking connections. The WCBA also hosts the Ohio Small Business Development Center, the Export Assistance Network, and the APEX Accelerator, further integrating our academic mission with regional economic development. The WCBA is committed to making high-quality business education accessible and affordable, with scholarships, competitive tuition, and flexible learning options.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None

Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications: Either an earned master's degree in accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution, or an earned bachelor's degree in accounting with an earned master's degree in business from an AACSB-accredited institution; and full-time professional work experience in accounting.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience. Experience collaborating in the business community. Engagement in professional associations. Professional accounting certification.
