Recent years have seen the development of specialist new programmes and members of our team have been successful in securing research funding. We are now looking for an experienced academic who can provide high-quality doctoral supervision while also contributing to the delivery, assessment and continued development of the taught elements of the EdD programme. Depending on subject expertise and programme requirements, the successful applicant may also contribute to teaching or research development activities elsewhere within the School.
We have both fixed term and permanent opportunities available, and post/s will be offered at 0.2 FTE or above. The specific number of hours/students assigned to the new colleague/s will be discussed with the successful candidate/s.
Applicants will be able to offer these essentials:
- A PhD/doctoral qualification in Education or a closely related subject discipline.
- Relevant research expertise in an area relevant to the supervision of EdD students.
- Experience of supervising students at doctoral level.
- Experience of supervising to completion successful dissertations.
- A sound understanding of qualitative, quantitative and/or mixed-methods research.
- The ability to teach research methods, professional doctorate content or another relevant area at postgraduate level.
- The ability to provide constructive, supportive and appropriately challenging feedback at doctoral level.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a supervisory team.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and to supporting students from diverse professional, cultural and educational backgrounds.
- The ability to maintain accurate records and meet agreed supervision and reporting requirements.
