Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Academic Physiatrist
The Department of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking a Physiatrist-Clinician Teacher for the Department of Post Acute Care & Rehabilitation at University Health Network’s Rehabilitation program. Up to two positions will be available. The successful candidate(s) will be an academic clinician who represents teaching and clinical excellence. The successful applicant(s) should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto and will be expected to work in the position description of Clinician Teacher. The effective start date is October 1st, 2026, or shortly thereafter.
The Department of Post-Acute Care & Rehabilitation at UHN is seeking experienced clinicians in acquired brain injury rehabilitation and slow stream general rehabilitation. The successful candidate(s) should have an established record of teaching excellence across undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. The successful candidate(s) will share in the provision of inpatient and outpatient consultations at UHN-Rehab’s University Centre’s ABI Rehabilitation Service and Bickle Centre’s Slow Stream Rehabilitation Service and provide physiatric consultations and follow-ups to outpatients with acquired brain injuries.
The successful candidate(s) must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. If residency training was completed in Canada, then candidates must have a Fellowship or be eligible for Fellowship certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. If residency training was completed in the US, then the candidate(s) must have certification or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and/or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Completion of the Master Teacher program at the University of Toronto, a master's degree in an education-related program or a proven track record of teaching excellence is required to ensure eligibility for a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto. Completion of fellowship(s) in acquired brain injury rehabilitation are considered assets.
