Department Information
Within this setting, the new faculty hire will play a vital role in teaching introductory-level courses for the department in chemistry. The hire must be able to support instruction in majors and non-majors chemistry courses in both lecture and laboratory settings.
Job Summary
Reporting to the department chair, the Lecturer position requires excellence in teaching with a classroom instructional load as assigned by the Department Chair and service to the department, college, and university at a level consistent with workload. The position is a non-tenure-track academic year (10 month) appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field, by August 1, 2026 with at least 18 graduate semester hours in chemistry or biochemistry.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses.
- Experience teaching at the university / college level.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
