The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) is seeking passionate and forward-thinking academics to join our vibrant School of Mathematics, Physics and Computing in two Lecturer (Computing) positions, where you’ll help shape innovative, industry-aligned programs and advance research in areas critical to our world.
These roles would be suitable for academics looking to add further contributions to the high-quality teaching and research profile of the School.
Who you are
You are a collaborative and forward-thinking academic who thrives in a collegial environment, working effectively with fellow academics, professional staff, and industry partners to deliver high-impact, industry-relevant education. You bring teaching and research expertise in one or more of the following areas: Networking and Cyber Security, Software Applications, Quantum Computing, Games Development and Cloud Computing, and have a strong foundation in ICT, curriculum design, and contemporary teaching pedagogy. Your experience reflects a commitment to student-centred learning and a passion for preparing graduates to excel in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
What you’ll do
In the role of Lecturer (Computing) you will:
- Develop and deliver high-quality, multi-mode teaching in areas such as Games Development, Networking and Cyber Security, Software Applications, and Cloud Computing.
- Engage in impactful research aligned with UniSQ’s strategic priorities.
- Supervise Honours and HDR students, contributing to their academic and professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance curriculum and drive innovation.
- Participate in service and engagement activities that strengthen UniSQ’s community and industry connections.
What will help you succeed
- A Doctorate or master’s qualification in Computing or an equivalent accreditation in a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, multi-mode teaching of computing courses in one or more of the following areas: Networking and Security, Software Applications and Cloud Computing.
- Recent and high-quality research contributions in Computer Science and IT areas.
- Ability to undertake quality research as evidenced by publication in high quality journals, competitive research grant funding and successful HDR supervision.

Location: Toowoomba or Springfield campus
Term: Full-time continuing appointment (37.5 hrs/week)
Salary: Total remuneration range of $133,256 to $157,504 pa (includes salary range of $112,381 to $132,831 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% salary and annual leave loading)
Closes: Sunday, 2 November 2025 at 11:30 pm (AEST)
Note that commencement in this role will be no earlier than 2 January 2026
