Description
The Johns Hopkins University School of Education invites applications for three lecturer positions in the Counseling and Educational Studies Department, beginning August 1, 2026. The SOE offers two counseling tracks, School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a graduate certificate program. The School of Education ranks #13 among the nation’s finest graduate education programs according to the latest ranking from U.S. News and World Report.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach eight (8) courses per year.
- Teach in Clinical Mental Health track.
- Supervise and advise students.
- Participate in professional service at the school, university, state, regional, and national levels.
- The candidate may be required to teach in both a traditional and distance learning format.
Qualifications
- A doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program.
- Completion of all doctoral requirements prior to employment.
- Full-time professional counseling experience.
- Either eligibility as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) or school counseling certification in Maryland.
- Ability to successfully teach in a diverse urban setting with a high population of international students.
- Provide evidence of teaching excellence.
- Knowledge of the CACREP standards and process.
