The successful candidate will develop and prepare course materials related to systems engineering concepts, methods, and tools in digital engineering, distributed systems architecting, modeling, analysis, simulation, and representation. The course should emphasize the transition from traditional document-centric systems engineering approaches to model-centric and digital engineering approaches, with attention to practical applications in complex engineered systems.
Primary Responsibility
The lecturer faculty member will be expected to develop and prepare the following graduate level course:
SYS ENG 6543 Digital Engineering — LEC 3.0
This course discusses issues related to distributed systems architecting, modeling, analysis, and representation, with specific focus on the digital systems engineering domain. Distributed modeling techniques and other model decomposition methods using simulation modeling and scalability issues will also be addressed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare graduate-level instructional materials for SYS ENG 6543 Digital Engineering
- Develop course content related to digital engineering, distributed systems architecting, systems modeling, model decomposition, simulation-based analysis, scalability, and representation of complex engineered systems
- Identify and incorporate appropriate systems engineering modeling tools, methods, case studies, assignments, projects, examinations, and grading rubrics consistent with graduate level expectations
- Ensure that the prepared course materials support future delivery of the course at the graduate level
