Lecturer (Education focused - Level B) in Medical Imaging Science
- One part-time 0.6 FTE 5-year fixed term contract available, One part time 0.4 FTE continuing contract available
- Teach in a comprehensive medical imaging suite of clinical imaging modalities, including a state-of-the-art Spectral CT and low field MRI, with world-class technical expertise
- Base Salary starting from $113,184 + 17% superannuation (Pro rata)

The Sydney School of Health Sciences is in a period of exciting and significant investment by the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The Discipline of Medical Imaging Science offers undergraduate and postgraduate Diagnostic Radiography programs and a Master of Medical Imaging Science with CT, MRI, Breast and Nuclear Medicine Hybrid Imaging specialisations. In 2021 we moved to the new Susan Wakil Health Building at the Camperdown campus and established new practical teaching spaces and equipment.
The University of Sydney is seeking to appoint Lecturers (Education focused- Level B) in Medical Imaging Science who are passionate about improving health outcomes and health equity in the local, national and global communities through medical imaging science. The incumbent will significantly contribute to teaching and learning practice, design, and evaluation within their Academic School, with a focus on coaching and developing students in providing best-practice patient care using a simulated or clinical setting.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Contribute to the discipline's outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes.
- apply clinical knowledge and expertise to innovate teaching and learning
- work as an effective team member and, as required, coordinate units of study.
- contribute to the education and administrative activities of the school
- contribute to positive workplace culture within the school
- contribute to the strategic direction of the discipline, faculty and university
- engage beyond the university (clinical and industry partners to the benefit of students & staff).
About you
- An allied health professional qualification or equivalent
- significant recent clinical expertise in any area of Diagnostic Radiography and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & hold a relevant radiation EPA licence
- a relevant postgraduate level qualification, a master's level would be desirable
- significant experience working in a clinical setting and proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform pedagogical practice (usually more than three years post accredited primary healthcare qualification)
- experience and training in teaching and learning in a tertiary or healthcare environment, as evidenced by student coaching and skills development
- demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives with a clinical focus
- a network of relationships with key academic, clinical and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
- experience in supervising or mentoring others and coordinating team activities
- demonstrated the capacity to interact, stimulate, actively engage and educate students in providing outstanding patient care.
