Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Fine Art) to join our BA (Hons) Fine Art course. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and collaborative team committed to delivering high quality learning and teaching and outstanding student experiences.

About You:

You will bring:

  • A BA (Hons) in Fine Art or Contemporary Art Practice, and an MA in Fine Art.
  • Proven teaching experience in Higher Education, including assessment and pastoral support.
  • Strong subject knowledge across contemporary Fine Art practice, including interdisciplinary and conceptual approaches, professional contexts, and relevant theoretical and contextual frameworks.
  • Demonstrable research, scholarship, and/or professional practice.
  • An understanding of pedagogic models that integrate theory and practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support diverse learners

About The Role:

In this role, you will:

  • Teach, assess, and provide academic support to undergraduate students, and contribute to postgraduate delivery where required.
  • Act as Unit Leader for designated units, managing all aspects of planning, resourcing, delivery, formative review, and assessment.
  • Support academic planning, curriculum development, and the Annual Monitoring Review process alongside the Course Leader.
  • Engage in research, scholarship, and/or professional practice that supports the University’s research culture.
  • Develop and maintain external networks that enhance industry engagement and learning opportunities.
