Job Overview

We are
the German College – Center for Preparatory Studies at Tongji University. It was founded in March 1979 as one of the eleven preparatory colleges of the Chinese Ministry of Education and is affiliated with Tongji University. Today, the Deutschkolleg has three areas of responsibility:

• German intensive courses for Chinese students and scientists who will study, do their doctorate or do research in German-speaking countries,
• TestDaF exam preparation,
• Intercultural preparation for a stay in Germany.

We are looking for
For our DaF lessons 1 lecturer with an academic degree in German as a foreign language or applied linguistics and with teaching experience. The position is available from WS 2022 from September 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023, extension possible. German mother tongue is a prerequisite. Applicants with experience in TestDaF or intercultural training are preferred.

We expect

• 12 SWS lessons,
• Participate in internal meetings,
• creation of exam questions,
• acceptance and correction of examinations,
• Participation in audio text recordings,
• Ability to work in a team, intercultural competence and interest in Chinese culture.

We offer

• monthly fee of 10000 RMB for 12 lessons per week,
• Paid overtime: RMB 150 for one lesson during the semester, RMB 180 during holidays,
• Flight subsidy of up to 8500 RMB for teaching activities of at least one semester,

• Participation in the cultural events organized by the Deutschkolleg,
• good working atmosphere and modern classrooms with multimedia systems.
