As a Lecturer in one of the largest providers of nurse education in the UK, you will be working with a vibrant community of academics, practitioners and researchers with a commitment to providing high-quality, research-informed teaching, to ensure active learning.
You will join a team of academic practitioners, innovating, teaching and supporting student nurses across the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. You will also support a range of post-registration teaching to registrants accessing our CPD portfolio, alongside opportunities to be involved in research and project work. You will be involved with supporting students, linking with our practice partners, and engaging with the research agenda.
You will need:
- The ability to design and deliver transformative and innovative learning experiences.
- Knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to Adult Nursing and the health and social care agenda.
- Experience of teaching, training or supervising undergraduate and postgraduate nurses in a practice or academic environment.
- Current NMC registration as an Adult Nurse.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- We would especially welcome applicants with experience in community nursing.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a starting salary of £40,000, for example, the University would pay just over £11,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £702 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the TPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
