At the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, a 3-year study lecturer position is available for occupancy as of January 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
About the Department
The Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences contributes to solutions to important challenges in society such as antibiotic resistance, food safety and lifestyle diseases. We develop animal models that are used to improve animal welfare and the treatment and prevention of diseases in both animals and humans. We teach in the veterinary study program, the food engineering study program, the biology-biotechnology study program and in the parasitology courses. The department consists of four sections, and the associate professor will be affiliated with the Section of Parasitology and Pathobiology (PAP).

Position content
The associate professor will teach veterinary anatomy and histology, primarily in the course SVEB25005U Veterinary Anatomy, but also to a lesser extent contribute to other courses, such as veterinary cell biology and pathology.
Your tasks will primarily be the following:
- Organize and implement teaching in collaboration with the department's other assistant professors, associate professors and professors.
- Plan, prepare and carry out the exams and other evaluations associated with the courses.
- Contribute to course development and preparation of new teaching elements.
- Contribute to and perform various teaching administrative tasks, such as scheduling and course websites.
- Contribute to research projects within the veterinary field
Qualification requirements
We are looking for a veterinarian to teach veterinary anatomy and pathology:
Required experience and skills:
- Master's degree in veterinary medicine
- Teaching experience at university level in veterinary anatomy
- Good communication skills and ability to work in teams
- Speaks and writes Danish at a high level
- Completed assistant professor training
Desired experience and skills:
- Experience as a course leader
- PhD in Veterinary Medicine
- Experience with pathology teaching
- Clinical experience from a small or large animal clinic is an advantage
When filling the position, emphasis is placed on the applicant having teaching qualifications that correspond to what can be achieved through satisfactory employment as an assistant professor.

Salary and employment terms
The position is 37 hours/week, and for a 3-year period.
The employment is fixed-term and is in accordance with a collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC. In addition, a total pension contribution of 17.1% of salary and pensionable allowances will be allocated. There will be the possibility of negotiating additional allowances based on qualifications.

The further process
After the application deadline, the head of department, with advice from the recruitment committee, selects which applicants will be assessed. The dean will then appoint a professional assessment committee to assess the selected applicants in relation to the specific position.
