Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
- Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
- Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
About You
Applicants should possess a PhD in Archaeology.
Additionally, you will demonstrate:
- Expertise in lithic technological analysis.
- An active program of field-based archaeological research in a geographical region that complements existing staff interests.
- Expertise in applied digital skills (e.g. spatial analysis) and/or quantitative methods in archaeology.
- Knowledge and the ability to teach an area of archaeology complementary to existing staff expertise, such as geoarchaeology or forensic archaeology.
- Familiarity with the ethics and practice of Indigenous cultural heritage and Indigenous engagement.
- A developing research program evidenced by publications, conference presentations, and success in obtaining external funding.
- Evidence of high quality teaching across all levels, including course coordination, curriculum design and program innovation.
- A demonstrated commitment to collegial service in the university and active engagement with the broader professional community.
