About the Position:
Flinders University is seeking an engaging and student‑centred academic to join the College of Science and Engineering as a Lecturer in Chemistry. As a Teaching Specialist, you will make an independent contribution to excellence in teaching, curriculum design, educational innovation and student success across chemistry and physics.
You will contribute expertise across:
- High‑quality, inspiring, student-focused teaching in physical chemistry, chemical physics and related chemistry/physics topics across a range of levels and delivery modes
- Curriculum design, review and continuous improvement that supports creativity, critical thinking and strong educational outcomes
- Academic support and engagement that enhances the student experience, strengthens progression, and supports career readiness
- Professional, college and community engagement aligned with enhancing teaching quality and promoting student and graduate success
This position is open to domestic and international candidates. Relocation and visa support is available.
About You
You are a passionate educator with a strong commitment to student learning and success. Your teaching practice is reflective, innovative and grounded in evidence‑based approaches that improve learning outcomes. You thrive in collaborative environments and are motivated by contributing to the next generation of chemistry graduates.
You will also demonstrate:
- A completed PhD or EdD, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
- Significant experience and excellence in tertiary teaching
- A strong record of curriculum development, topic coordination and contribution to academic quality assurance
- Experience coordinating and/or leading teaching activities of other staff
- Evidence of engagement with professional bodies, industry, or wider community networks at a local, national or international level
- Tertiary qualifications in Education (desirable)
