Your future is here
A place to inspire
In a teaching role at Nottingham College you will play a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. We are Nottingham’s College and together, we make a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Our teachers bring experience, flair, industry connections, passion and care to their roles and in return we invest in them. Here, you have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive and the opportunity to shape your career.
Who we need
Join our Business and Digital team at our flagship City Hub campus, right in the heart of Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking and rapidly growing curriculum area, where you’ll help shape the next generation of digital professionals.
We’re looking for someone with hands-on industry experience who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and inspiring others. You’ll deliver across Further and Higher Education (Levels 3–5), contributing to both Digital Support & Security and Digital Software Development T Level pathways.
In this role, you won’t just teach—you’ll bring the digital world to life. Drawing on your industry insight, you’ll create engaging, real-world learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers in a fast-paced and ever-evolving sector. Your work will directly influence student outcomes, confidence, and career readiness.
You’ll be joining a diverse, innovative and highly professional team that values collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement. With significant growth across our provision, you’ll have the opportunity to shape future delivery, introduce fresh ideas, and make a genuine difference—while developing your own career in a nurturing and aspirational environment.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring both technical expertise and a genuine passion for developing others. Whether you’re already teaching or looking to take your first step into education, we’ll support you to thrive.
You will have:
- A degree or professional qualification in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT, Networking, Data Science or Cyber Security
- Strong programming experience, including Python and at least one other language
- Confidence across front-end and back-end development, with a broad understanding of modern digital practices
It would be great if you also have knowledge or experience in:
- IT infrastructure, networking and cyber security
- Microsoft cloud technologies
Essentially, you’ll be an industry professional who is eager to share your expertise in a way that is inclusive, engaging and student-focused. You’ll understand how to motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds, helping them realise their potential and achieve their goals.
If you already hold a recognised teaching qualification, that’s fantastic. If not, don’t worry—we’re equally interested in talented industry professionals who are ready to transition into teaching, and we will fully support you to gain your teaching qualification alongside your role, within an agreed timeframe.
