We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Cyber Security with the drive to deliver high-quality teaching, develop a credible research profile, and engage meaningfully with industry. This is an opportunity to join a growing and ambitious department committed to producing work-ready graduates and delivering impact beyond the University.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach across core areas such as network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics and cloud security, bringing current technical knowledge into the classroom. You should be able to design and deliver practice-led teaching that reflects contemporary industry standards and tools, and that challenges students to operate in realistic, problem-driven environments.

Alongside teaching, you will be expected to establish and develop a research profile in cyber security or a closely related discipline. This includes contributing to high-quality outputs, engaging in collaborative research, and working towards external funding where appropriate. We are particularly interested in applied research that connects with real-world challenges and has the potential to generate impact beyond academia.

You will also contribute to the School’s knowledge exchange and enterprise activity, engaging with external partners where possible and supporting the development of student employability. This is not a purely academic role; we are looking for someone who can operate confidently across teaching, research, and external engagement.

This is a demanding post in a fast-moving discipline. In return, it offers the opportunity to shape provision, build a clear academic trajectory, and contribute to a department that is serious about growth, relevance, and impact.
