Position Summary
The AACSB-accredited College of Business at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for a full-time non tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Economics to begin Fall 2026.
Preferred candidates will have teaching interests and experience in several of the following areas: Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Business and Economic Forecasting, Econometrics, U.S. Economic History, and Public Finance. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience teaching macroeconomics, money and banking, and/or business and economic forecasting, including online delivery.

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate economics courses, including possible online and hybrid assignments.
- Advise and support students in ways that promote retention, engagement, and academic success.
- Contribute positively to the department, the College of Business, and the broader university community.
- Perform other duties consistent with the role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in working with a diverse student body and supporting student success in undergraduate economics education.
Required Qualifications
- MA/MS in Economics or a closely related field
- Teaching experience in at least one of the following areas: Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Business and Economic Forecasting, Econometrics, U.S. Economic History, and Public Finance
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Economics or a closely related field
- Evidence of teaching excellence and ongoing scholarly or professional engagement
- Teaching interests and experience in several of the following areas: Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Business and Economic Forecasting, Econometrics, U.S. Economic History, and Public Finance
- Experience developing and teaching Macroeconomics, Business and Economic Forecasting, Econometrics, and/or related courses in online or hybrid formats, ideally using software such as STATA, R, and/or Python
Salary for Announcement
The annual salary range for this faculty position is $85,000 - $92,000 at Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
