About the Role
The School of Education at UCC is seeking a Lecturer (Below the Bar) to contribute to:
- Teaching, assessment, and school placement supervision in undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education programs.
- Programme development and administration in the areas of Literacy, Numeracy, and Inclusion.
- Research and scholarly activities with a social justice orientation in the field of education.
- Pastoral support for education students, particularly focusing on diversifying the teaching workforce.
- Engagement with community links and contributions to UCC academic life.
This role combines teaching, research, pastoral care, and administrative responsibilities within a dynamic and research-active School of Education.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Doctorate (PhD) in History, Sociology, Psychology, or Philosophy of Education.
- Knowledge of the Irish education sector.
- Experience in providing pastoral support to students.
- Evidence of research expertise in the discipline of education.
- Ability to contribute to teaching, school placements, and postgraduate supervision.
Additional desirable qualities:
- Experience in social justice-oriented education.
- Contribution to program development and community engagement.
