Lecturer in Electromechanical Engineering
The Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering School provides our learners with the knowledge and skills required by the engineering industry. We provide an excellent foundation for our learners to progress to the next level, including careers in the engineering sector, apprenticeships and Higher Education.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our successful team at Uxbridge College as a part time Lecturer. You would teach across a range of courses including Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering from Level 1 to Level 5 including:
- EAL / City & Guilds
- BTEC Foundation
- Diplomas
- Extended Diplomas
- T Levels
- Higher National Certificates and Diplomas in Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering
You will need to possess a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a related area, and have some teaching or training experience and preferably some industry experience in the subject area. You will also be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience of teaching various Engineering subjects in both Electrical/ Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. You will also have good communication skills and be able to engage and motivate young learners aged 16-19.
Support will be provided for the successful candidate to achieve a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification for the FE sector if you do not already possess this.
The UK Government have a scheme in place which enables eligible Further Education teachers within their first 5 years of teaching in Further Education to claim up to £6,000 directly from the Government. The preferred working days for this post would be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays; however there may be flexibility on this.
