The successful candidate will ideally join us by August 2025.

This is a Teaching and Scholarship position. The postholder will contribute to teaching delivery, scholarship activity, and administrative responsibilities within the JP/JEI. This post is based in London, and will require regular travel to China for in-person teaching.

About You

You will have a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent and teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level. You should demonstrate the ability to teach across one or more of the following areas (not exclusively): Cognitive Robotic Systems, Cryptography and Cyber Security, Computer Networks, Sensor and RFID, Advanced Transform Methods, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded System Design, Innovation and Technology for Engineering, Machine Learning, Introduction to AI, Object-Oriented Programming.

This position is focused solely on teaching and scholarship. You are expected to have clear and ambitious plans for advancing scholarship activities that enhance student education and experience, particularly through curriculum development and educational delivery in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. You will engage in educational projects within the relevant scholarship groups. These projects are aligned with the School and University’s education priorities. Please note that traditional technical research outputs are not in scope for this role.

About the EECS and JP/JEI

The school is recognised for pioneering research and impactful projects. In the 2021 Research Excellent Framework (REF), EECS ranked join-first in the UK for the impact of our Computer Science research, and second for our Electronic Engineering research output. Our collaboration with BUPT dated back to 2004 and delivers fully English-taught dual-degree programmes. We were the first JP to be approved under the “key university” quota and the first in China to receive the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) accreditation. Our JEI is ranked among the top-16 outstanding JEIs delivering Transnational Education in China.
