Position Overview

• Based in the College of Science located at the Waite Campus
• Full time, fixed-term position 36 months, convertible academic employment
• Salary Range: $114,917 - $135,932 per annum (+ 17% Superannuation)
• Teaching and research focused position focusing in food science

The School of Agriculture, Food & Wine is looking to build capacity in food science research and teaching and is seeking to attract an outstanding applicant with food science background who will maintain and further enhance innovative research and scholarly education capabilities.

The applicant will be expected to introduce innovative approaches to teaching and assessment, and contribute collaboratively to curriculum design for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the food science discipline.

The appointee will also contribute significantly to our Haide College programs which forms part of the University’s Joint Education Institution based in Qingdao, China, in partnership with Ocean University China.

Experience Required

• A PhD in food science, food technology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrable expertise in the food sector (e.g. food innovation and technology, food chemistry/biochemistry, food product development, food sensory analysis).
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching in food sciences via lectures, workshops, tutorials and practicals at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching-related administrative activities including assessment, marking, pastoral care and maintaining online learning platforms connected with courses.
• Demonstrated ability to secure research investment from national/international competitive agencies.
