Lecturer in Healthy Living Environment

Job description

We are seeking a new professor for the Healthy Living Environment research group. Over the past few years, the research group, along with a team of lecturer-researchers, has built a research program at the intersection of health, consumer behavior, and the quality of the living environment. This has resulted, among other things, in the successful master's program "Healthy Behavior & Living Environment."

What you'll be doing:

In this innovative master's program for part-time students, professionals use design thinking to address societal issues surrounding consumer behavior, health, and the living environment. The societal urgency surrounding themes such as aging, loneliness, vitality, healthcare, safety, and exercise places demands on the design and quality of the living environment. The research group aims to contribute to a future-proof society through research at the intersection of these themes.

The transition to a healthy, future-proof living environment requires a holistic vision of society, in which social, ecological, and economic values reinforce each other. To this end, the research group collaborates intensively with stakeholders in a dynamic network, where system innovation is examined and assessed from various perspectives. The research group contributes to education at the bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate levels.

  • You will provide direction to the Healthy Living Environment research group and further develop the research program at the intersection of health, consumer behavior, and living environment.
  • You lead a team of lecturer-researchers and collaborate with partners on practice-oriented research with social impact.
  • You contribute to education at the AD, bachelor's, master's and course level, and are the figurehead of the master's program 'Healthy Behavior & Living Environment'.
  • You actively raise funds for the research program through acquisition and collaboration.
  • You guarantee the scientific quality of applied research within the lectorate.
  • You build a strong network of stakeholders within the domain of a healthy and future-proof living environment.

We offer

  • An excellent salary in accordance with the collective labor agreement for higher professional education (HBO) in scale 14 or 15, with a maximum of €9,046.60 gross per month, depending on experience and the scope of the appointment.
  • Good secondary employment conditions, including 8% holiday allowance and a fixed end-of-year bonus of 8.3% of the gross monthly salary.
  • A good pension plan through the ABP pension fund.
  • A travel and expense allowance in accordance with the collective labor agreement for higher professional education.
  • Ample opportunities for training and further professionalization.

We ask

  • A creative thinker who, in consultation with the research team and management, creates space within the broad scope of this research domain to focus more closely on sub-themes that contribute to solutions for this major societal concern.
  • A strong connector with a vision who guides a research program focused on developing knowledge and innovation for a healthier and more future-proof living environment.
  • A networker who acquires and thereby raises resources for the implementation of the research program.
  • A leader of the lectorate, who together with a professional and enthusiastic team of teacher-researchers, works on practice-oriented research and (international) education at the course, AD, Bachelor and Master level.
  • A figurehead for the Master's program in 'Healthy Behavior & Living Environment' with an important supervisory role in ensuring the quality of applied scientific research.
  • Someone with demonstrable experience in applied scientific research and who has a PhD in a scientific discipline relevant to this domain.

Where you'll work:
