Baylor University’s Department of Human Sciences and Design invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Interior Design. We seek a candidate who is dedicated to advancing the field through innovative teaching and meaningful student engagement. This appointment is a non-tenure-track, renewable full-time, benefits eligible, teaching-focused position with a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and a 12-year promotion path to Teaching Professor for highly successful candidates. Anticipated start date of August 2026. As a Christian university, Baylor seeks faculty who have an active Christian or Jewish faith and who will support its mission by fostering academic excellence within a caring, faith-informed community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in both studio and lecture-based interior design courses. Teaching responsibilities will include courses such as design graphics, digital technologies, materials and finishes, and upper-level design studios. In addition to teaching and mentoring, the individual is expected to engage in service to the university, the community, and the profession.
