Academic Level B | $115,871 to $137,122 pa plus 17% superannuation
Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country
About the Position:
Flinders University is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Lecturer in Law (Teaching Specialist, Academic) to deliver high-quality, innovative teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate Law programs.
This is a teaching-focused position with no research requirement, offering the opportunity to shape future-ready law graduates through engaging, inclusive and technology-enhanced learning. The position contributes across core legal areas including Evidence, Health Law, Dispute Resolution, Indigenous Peoples, Colonialism and the Law, and Human Service Law.
You will:
Deliver engaging, student-centred teaching across Law programs using innovative and blended approaches
Contribute to curriculum design, topic coordination, and ongoing course improvement
Enhance student learning through practical legal skills development and academic support
Engage with industry and community partners to strengthen employability outcomes
This position is open to domestic candidates with Australian Work Rights. Relocation support may be available to the successful candidate.
About You:
You are an experienced and innovative legal educator with a strong commitment to student success and high-quality teaching. You bring the ability to design engaging learning experiences, support diverse student cohorts, and contribute to a collaborative academic environment focused on continuous improvement and educational excellence.
You are confident using contemporary teaching methods and digital learning technologies, and you are motivated by improving student outcomes and preparing graduates for modern legal practice and broader societal impact.
You will bring:
A PhD or EdD in Law (or equivalent qualification)
Demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching and student engagement
Experience teaching and assessing practical legal skills
Capability in curriculum design, topic coordination, or course development
