Applications are invited for the post of Teaching-Focussed Lecturer in Life Sciences on the Integrated Foundation Year (IFY) Programme at Royal Holloway, University of London. This is a 1.0 FTE ongoing position.
The well-established and successful IFY programme at Royal Holloway teaches and supports up to 400 students per year across a broad range of disciplines. We are currently expanding the staffing of our STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) strand to enhance the foundation year experience for our students through more discipline-focused courses.
The successful applicant will be an experienced and talented teacher with experience of teaching Foundation Year students across a range areas within the Biological Sciences remit, and a particular interest in biology. They will have been responsible for students as a personal tutor. They will be experienced in using and teaching R Studio in a way that encourages and inspires students to embrace statistical analysis as part of their learning journey. They will also be an excellent communicator and versatile teacher, able to adapt their teaching methods to fit the diverse backgrounds of our students, in an approach centred on inclusivity, equity and the provision of skills for choice and opportunity.
