The Lecturer in Mathematics will contribute to a dynamic, transdisciplinary and globally competitive research environment through research collaboration, external grant income, the delivery of high-quality publications and the recruitment and supervision of higher degree research students. The successful candidate will contribute to a lively, passionate and internationally recognised teaching environment through curriculum development, innovative course delivery, excellent student engagement and leadership of evidence-based innovation in teaching and outreach.
About you
You are dedicated and forward-thinking with expertise in Mathematics and ready to contribute to a thriving academic environment. Ideally, you will have a research record in mathematics with applications to machine learning and an ability to develop industry partnerships attracting associated funding.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A PhD in Mathematics or related area.
- Demonstrated record of publication or non-traditional research output in high quality outlets
- Demonstrated outstanding research record in applied mathematics.
- Demonstrated capacity for independent research; contributing as a chief investigator, including collaborations which create new insights and opportunities.
- Demonstrated outstanding performance in a range of higher-level internal duties, providing a strong contribution to external activities, and developing international collaborations.
- Skills in active and effective record of supervision of Honours/Masters research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve teaching quality as indicated by internal and external surveys and outcomes for students
- Willingness and ability to contribute to outreach activities, School/College governance, organisational administration (including course coordination) and initiative/activities within the University.
