Position Overview
The Department of Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital, in partnership with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time academic General Internist. The successful candidate will be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with one of the following academic designations:
- Clinician Teacher (CT)
- Clinician Educator (CE)
- Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI)
The expected start date is July 1, 2026, or shortly thereafter.
Qualifications
- MD degree with eligibility for certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Licensure (or eligibility) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Demonstrated clinical excellence in:
- Acute inpatient care
- Ambulatory care
- Perioperative medicine
- Additional training in POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound), addiction medicine, or quality improvement.
- Graduate degree or other advanced training relevant to the specialty.
- Participation in educational programs, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Reporting Structure
The successful candidate will report to the Head of the Division of General Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. The Division is composed of 21 full-time academic internists and is internationally recognized for clinical research, education, and quality improvement.
Remuneration
Estimated compensation will align with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
