Lecturer in Midwifery
Applications are invited for an appointment as Lecturer in Midwifery at University of Galway on a fulltime, permanent contract.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Galway is a dynamic, innovative, research active School with vibrant teaching and research programmes. Midwifery lecturers are responsible for a variety of duties in teaching, student supervision, course development and organisation. Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of teaching, and associated administration across all midwifery programmes. Additionally, contribute to teaching across School programmes, both in classroom, skills laboratories, simulation suites, clinical settings and on-line. Relevant curriculum and practice development will be undertaken along with a contribution to the development of student placements and initiatives.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the research output of the school and specifically play a leading role in the future development of research goals at the University of Galway.
Candidates should have an excellent academic record with appropriate professional and academic qualifications and must have experience of teaching in third level institution(s). Experience of programme development is preferred, and applicants should demonstrate clinical credibility in midwifery, and conducting research.

Salary: €64,260 to €102,513 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy.QA321-Updated-PP-Remuneration.pdf
