Position description

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in Summer 2026:

• Genetics
• Introduction to Molecular Biology
• Intro to Organismal Biology
• Math Modeling for Biology
• Molecular Basis of Healing and Disease
• Molecular Biology Lab
• Molecular Immunology
• Nutrition
• Organismal Biology Lab
• The Cell
• Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Qualifications

Basic qualifications
Advanced degree in Biology or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required.

• Statement of Teaching - List of SNS courses currently listed on the Summer 2025 schedules for which you feel you have the qualification to perform the duties of the primary or secondary instructor. Be sure to list your level clearly for each course.

• Teaching Evaluations (Optional)
• Authorization to Release Information Form - As a condition of employment, the finalist will be required to disclose if they are subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct.
