About the opportunity:
The University of Canberra is recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed academic to join our occupational therapy team as a Education Focus (EF) or Education Research (ER) lecturer. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impactful and meaningful contribution to teaching, scholarship, and research within a growing and highly regarded health discipline.
As part of our collaborative academic team, this position plays a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences across our Bachelor and Master of Occupational Therapy programs. This is a great opportunity to shape curriculum, drive teaching innovation, and develop a research profile aligned with the priorities of the Occupational Therapy discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and deliver occupational therapy units.
- Lead innovative teaching practices.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, practical classes, and seminars.
- Design, develop and review curriculum and learning materials.
- Assess student performance and provide high-quality feedback.
- Support student learning and supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students (ER).
- Develop and contribute to a collaborative research program (ER).
About you:
To be successful, you will bring:
- Registration as an occupational therapist with AHPRA.
- Significant clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student-centred learning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse student cohorts.
For Education Research role:
- PhD (or progress towards completion)
- An emerging or established research profile relevant to occupational therapy (for the research focused role option).
Additional qualities that would be highly regarded include:
- Experience working with children and young people and/ or with within the disability sector
- Previous teaching, course coordination or supervision experience in higher education.
