An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of Health Sciences to deliver lectures and seminars and carry out teaching-related duties.

Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, taking responsibility for the delivery and assessment of specific modules.

This will include organising modules and developing teaching and learning materials. You will also take responsibility for some of the degree programmes within the school, supervise dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and promote enterprise and engagement at UEA.

A first degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area with experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and student assessment at all levels including coursework, examinations and undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations is essential.

Supervision experience at postgraduate level and experience in relevant enterprise and engagement activities would be advantageous.

This full-time post is available from 23 March 2026 on an indefinite basis.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Vulnerable Adult Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to vulnerable adults.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.

Further information on our great benefits package, including 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days (pro rata for part-time), can be found on our benefits page.

Closing date: 16 February 2026

We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. We particularly welcome applicants with the protected characteristics of race (Black, Asian and minority ethnic), and sex (male), for this post, as they are currently underrepresented in this type of role within the School. Appointment will be made on merit and all applicants will be scored against the same criteria.

The University holds an Athena Swan Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality.
