  • Term: Fixed-term, full-time basis until 30 October 2029
  • Remuneration: $134,910 to $160,222 pa (LEVB) (inclusive of $114,000 to $135,390 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Lecturer in Project Management to join School of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering.

The Lecturer in Project Management will work with a team of highly experienced academics within the wider School of Architecture and Built Environment. The position will contribute to postgraduate and undergraduate teaching including teaching in the highly successful Master of Project Management and Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Construction Management and Quantity Surveying), where QUT is known for industry connections, real-world application of theory and evidence-based practice. The successful incumbent will have a record of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses and bring strength to all aspects of quality teaching, including conceptualising, designing, delivering and reviewing curricula. Teaching areas of particular interest include – but are not limited to – construction project risk management (including quantitative and qualitative risk analysis), project systems thinking and the application of digital technologies in project management. The successful candidate will also provide high-impact research outcomes, delivered in collaboration with researchers across the School, Faculty and the University and with external partners in government and industry.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a PhD in Project Management, or a closely related field. Real world experience in Australian construction project management roles will be regarded favourably.
  2. Ability to develop and maintain an excellent research program that supports or complements existing research strengths in the School of Architecture and Built Environment.
  3. Demonstrated track record in high-quality teaching within project management including an ability to teach practically orientated curricula across a range of levels in the professionally oriented Project Management discipline. Expertise in construction project risk management (including quantitative and qualitative risk analysis), project systems thinking and the application of digital technologies in project management will be highly regarded.
  4. Demonstrated ability in building partnerships with industry, professional associations (including the Project Management Institute and the Australian Institute of Project Management), government or community groups and translate into opportunities for research and teaching. Industry relevant knowledge in will be regarded favourably.
  5. Demonstrated ability to cooperate and collaborate well with others in a team with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Cross-disciplinary collaborations will be regarded favourably.
  6. Personal drive and integrity, and demonstrated capacity to embrace and participate in change to improve personal and organisational effectiveness.
