PRIMARY DETAIL
- Salary Package: Lecturer (Level B) from $123,435 to $146,044 plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading
- Full-time, continuing position (Balanced – 40-40-20)
- Located at Macquarie University (Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde)
An exciting opportunity for an academic to develop and contribute to innovative and impactful Teaching and Research in Psychology at Macquarie University.
The School of Psychological Sciences is seeking a suitably qualified academic to be actively involved in the development, implementation, and delivery of units in the suite of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Psychology Courses within the School, as well as engaging in research.
About You
You will have a tertiary qualifications in psychology (or psychological sciences), and the capacity to design, deliver units and courses at both the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels. You will have a track record in convening accredited psychology courses in Australia. Additionally, you will possess a willingness to embrace educational technology, blended learning and educational innovation.

Essential criteria for Level B:
- A PhD or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Psychology.
- Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Exceptional teaching skills and demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery, and management of online and face-to-face content, lectures, tutorials, and assessments, with demonstrated evidence of excellent student outcomes and reflective practice.
- Demonstrated innovation in pedagogical teaching practice, including assessments and curriculum development, especially in the design and delivery of existing and new courses in psychological sciences including social and developmental psychology, personality, counselling skills, health and intercultural psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching in psychology units in accredited programs in Australia.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to build an inclusive teaching and learning environment, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Evidence of successful delivery to diverse student cohorts and of creating a positive student experience characterised by strong engagement at the undergraduate levels.
- Demonstrated strong track record in research, relative to opportunity, including research grants and peer reviewed publications.
- Evidence of quality research supervision including Honours.
- Research track record that is compatible with the research strengths of staff within the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in, and/or with the teaching of, applied and/or translational research skills in psychological sciences.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to teaching across both undergraduate (large units) in psychology and postgraduate accredited psychology programs.
