research, the role includes teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes as required, supervising student projects, and contributing to the development of new and existing taught provision. The post holder will also undertake appropriate administrative duties, mentoring and outreach activities, and contribute to the effective operation and academic life of the School and wider University.
About you
You will have a good first degree in engineering, science or applied mathematics, together with a PhD or equivalent research or industrial experience in a relevant field such as rehabilitation or healthcare technologies or biomaterials. You will demonstrate a developing or established track record of high‑quality research publications and the ability to plan and deliver a substantive research programme, including the preparation of competitive funding proposals. You will also hold, or be willing to work towards, professional registration and a recognised academic teaching qualification.
You will be an effective educator with the ability to teach, supervise and assess students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to contribute to curriculum development using appropriate and innovative teaching approaches. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within an academic environment are essential for success in this role.
