Your next career opportunity: Make a significant contribution to the Science of Learning specialisation within the Master of Education, helping to shape the future direction of this key area. Contribute to the Faculty of Education’s growing expertise in cognitive development, educational neuroscience, and the psychological processes underpinning learning. You will play a pivotal role in advancing research, teaching, and postgraduate supervision within a dynamic academic environment. Deliver high-quality postgraduate programmes, engage in impactful research, and develop strong collaborative relationships both within and beyond the University. Help shape innovative and evidence-informed approaches to education and intervention through curriculum development, academic leadership, and broader engagement with professional and community networks. This role will commence in October, with early November as the latest possible start date.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advancing research in the Science of Learning, including developing a coherent research agenda, publishing in leading journals, securing competitive funding, and supervising graduate research students.
  • Delivering high-quality postgraduate teaching, including designing and coordinating coursework subjects, preparing and facilitating lectures and seminars, and developing engaging online resources and assessment materials.
  • Contributing to academic leadership and service, including participating in School and Faculty committees, leading curriculum development, and supporting strategic planning and policy initiatives.
  • Engaging with external partners and professional communities, including building collaborative networks, providing mentorship and professional development, and promoting evidence-based educational practices.

You will also: Hold a doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Psychology, Education, Neuroscience or a closely related field. Have a sound understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations of the Science of Learning, particularly within educational contexts. Demonstrate experience in postgraduate teaching in disciplines such as neuroscience of education, student cognitive learning processes and/or student development. Possess a strong research track record relative to career stage, including high-quality publications, potential to attract internal and external research funding, and capacity to supervise postgraduate research students to completion.
