Job Summary
Lecturer will develop and deliver courses for online MSL.
Minimum Qualifications
General Requirements:
- Advanced degree (JD, PhD, or equivalent) in law, computer science or a related field
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: privacy law, AI and technology law, legal technology
- Experience designing or teaching online courses, preferably for professional or continuing education audiences.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in law, tech, or corporate settings.
- Published scholarship or industry recognition in relevant fields.
- Experience teaching or lecturing in online or hybrid formats.
- Ability to commit to long-term engagement as a lecturer or program contributor.
Preferred Expertise for Multi-Course Development:
- Privacy and Data Protection: Deep knowledge of global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), AI privacy issues, and cybersecurity; ability to develop Privacy Law, AI and Information Privacy, and Law and Data Privacy. Certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPT) a plus.
- AI and Technology Law: Expertise in AI ethics, governance, and legal applications, with familiarity in legal theory; ability to develop AI: Past, Present, and Future, AI and Information Privacy, and Technology and Jurisprudence.
- Legal Technology: Practical experience in e-discovery, legal research tools, or tech literacy for lawyers; ability to develop Computer Literacy and the Law and E-Discovery.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 10/23/2025. Salary is commensurate with experience. Employees with similar Lecturer duties at the University can make between $50,000-$125,000.
